As Benedictine College kicked off the 2008-09 school year, newly-hired philosophy professor Dr. John Dudley was still in his home country of Belgium waiting for approval to be a legal employee of the college.

"Nobody I know enjoys being at south campus.  We're just living with it," said Corbin Hernandez, a junior theater arts major from Olathe, Kansas and future resident of Wolf Hall.

This year there are many changes happening at BC, some that are noticeable and some that you have to look for, one of these changes is that the “Department of Business” has changed to the “School of Business”.

Benedictine College student life has undergone a reorganization going into the 2008 school year as Joe Wurtz was hired as the new Dean of Students.  Wurtz will be working side by side with Linda Henry, who was previously the Dean of Students and now has the new title of Vice President of Student Life.

The BC Operations Department will disband its internal security department and hire AlliedBarton Security Services to handle issues including evacuation planning, drug and alcohol abuse, residence life security, campus escort services, and emergency planning.

As the morning of September 8 broke with a fierce downpour, members of the Benedictine College community gathered to celebrate 150 years of an education rooted in community, faith and scholarship.
