There, she was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, a form of inflammation of the protective membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. She was pronounced brain dead on Saturday. Her facebook group “R.I.P. Cheri Menk” reports that her organs were donated the next day. Menk is best known throughout the BC community for leading a Bible study, two years participation on the Varsity Dance Team, and founding the Raven School of Dance. Her friends say they will particularly miss her infectious smile and beautiful dancing. Menk is survived by her parents, Steven and Jacqueline Menk,; brother, Dustin Menk; fiancé, Sean Huntley; and various grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation and viewing were held in the O’Malley-McCallister Auditorium on Tuesday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville MO, on Highway Nine just off Second Street. Memorial gifts may be made out to the Menk family, and will be distributed to various causes supported by Menk.
